What was your path to becoming a therapist?

I studied psychology in Lima, Peru and came to the US to complete a master’s degree at the University of Michigan. While I was a student, I became interested in family systems and the factors that determine human relationships. This interest took me to the Erikson Institute in Chicago and the family therapy program at CAU. I have been working in the field since 2004, helping a diverse population of individuals and families.

What should someone know about working with you?

I believe that difficulties and crises are great opportunities to learn about ourselves and improve our lives. Psychotherapy, to me, is an ongoing process in which we begin to acquire a deeper understanding of ourselves and the factors determining our lives.
